🟢 ROLES
Lead Gameplay Design cum Product Owner
🟢 RESPONSIBILITIES
🟡 Lead Gameplay Design:
- Build game design documents, structures and workflows
- Research and define top standards for many aspects of game to serve global audience
- Design gameplay, game mechanics, game rules and gameplay elements
- Test builds, collect feedbacks and iterate to improve game feel and overall game
🟡 Product Owner:
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends and study competitor games to inform valuable insights and
- Foresee concerns and opportunities, research, analyze and come up with solutions, suggestions
- Manage and update priority on Trello and Jira, sprint and backlog
- Review design and solve problems with team members and stakeholders
- Sprint planning and retrospective every week
- Feature and roadmap planning
- Making reports, specs and pitch decks
- Metrics and Data: sadly, not having chance yet, our game is still in early stage
🟡 Generalist oversee and ensure highest quality of art and design for:
- Character concept, story and animation: 8 playable heroes with full abilities, animation and VFX
- Feature, system design: hero collection, hero upgrade, lootbox system, ranking, clan and social features
- All UI/ UX
- Game tuning and balancing for beyond satisfying experiences
🟢 ACHIEVEMENTS
- Entrusted to propose game ideas, aim at social aspects and long term growth opportunity for the studio. Among brainstormed ideas, I luckily became The Creator, aka Creative Director of an original and never-before-seen Match 3 RPG gameplay, with inspiration from Match 3 RPG and Moba games. Then I pitch and win full support for this vision from the CEO
- With my co-workers, we made a pitchdeck that win interest and investment for this vision, to become Asia's Supercell from big investors in Canada
- From a small team with minor experience in Mid-core and Unity, having built only casino games in Cocos so far. Then I bring fresh creative and energy vibe from hardcore game background, along with professional exp and workflow. Together, we managed to pull off a unique project in 8 months with high long term growth chance for the studio
- Mentor new team members, help grow design team for this project from 1 to 5
- Our studio members, instead of casino games only for money before, now can work and grow with passion and excitement for a bright future: "Dare to dream, make the impossible possible!"
